Why Should I Go To a Private Ophthalmology Practice instead of a LASIK center, for my Refractive Procedure?

Here are 10 reasons that we feel it is better to seek a private Ophthalmology practice for your laser vision correction, instead of going to a LASIK center or chain.

#1.)  We are here for the long-run, i.e., we won’t be out of business when you want to see us next.

#2.)  We are not money driven; we provide quality care and do what is in the best interest of the patient now and long term.

#3.)  Dr. Bogart will NOT fly into town just to do your surgery and fly right back out afterwards.
Dr. Bogart will be available if you have a problem.  (All of our patients get his personal cell phone number!)

#4.)  You will not see a Doctor who did NOT go to medical school for your pre-operative exam (very important dilated measurements for surgery) .  Our Surgeon is a Medical Doctor.  He has a 4 year M.D. and he has 4 additional years of schooling, specifically in eye surgery and eye medicine- not a 4 year postgraduate degree in Optics.

#5.)  Dr. Walt Bogart, will see you for ALL of your follow-up care.  You will not follow-up with a Doctor that did not perform your surgery.

#6.)  We will not try to get you in the door with a low-ball figure, i.e., $299 per eye, $800.00 per eye, etc.  We will not try to get you to put money down to hold a surgery spot/date.

#7.)  We own all of our equipment.  It is actually cheaper to rent your equipment than it is to own it!  We know our machine; our staff has been fully trained and certified to operate our laser.  We pay for routine maintenance and excellent 24/7 customer service support.

#8.)  We will not treat you like "cattle" on the day of surgery.  You can have confidence in our team that we will make sure you are as comfortable as possible, and our treatment is specific to you!

#9.)  There are no surprises.  We are very thorough.  Our patients know exactly what to expect on the day of surgery and post-operatively.  We will spend 3 to 4 hours with you prior to surgery… not 30 minutes.

#10.)  A lot of centers will only do a retreatment (touch-up procedure) if your vision is 20/40 or worse.  Dr. Bogart wants you to be satisfied with your vision and will do whatever it takes to get you seeing better, even if your vision is better than 20/40.
