Dr. Walt Bogart has been practicing Ophthalmology for more than 24 years. He is board certified and a member in good standing of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has practiced in the Columbia area for over 21 years.
Dr. Bogart received his medical training at Baylor College of Medicine. He did his Internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. His residency in ophthalmology was in Washington D.C. at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Dr. Bogart has served his country in both the army and the air force. During the Vietnam conflict he was a helicopter pilot. After medical school he served as both a general medical officer (prior to his residency training) and as Chief Ophthalmologist at Ft. Jackson, S.C. In March 2009, Dr. Bogart retired with more than 27 years of service with the South Carolina National Guard.
Dr. Bogart enjoys many outdoor activities in the South Carolina area, including boating on Lake Murray and rowing on the Broad River, biking, flying helicopters and airplanes, water sports, and riding his motorcycle.
